The perils of expatriothood

I was stupid just now. I mis-remembered the little numbers on the back of my xbox 360 power supply and didn't double check. And so when I plugged it in with just a little plug converter instead of a voltage transformer...

A loud click.

A oxide smell.

Blew the fuse labeled "bedrooms".

Probably killed the little plug converter.

Definitely killed my power brick.

.... hopefully didn't kill the box itself. Either way, it means a trip to the game store tomorrow to see if I can buy an EU power supply. And tomorrow we're having a little apartment warming party where I've all but promised Rock Banding.

Oh well. The worst that could come is that my xbox is totally fried and shucks, I need to buy a new one, with an HDMI output instead of the measly component outs that I've got.

Early adopters take all the knocks, I tell ya.
